Bravo™ apple-ixir

Bravo™ apple-Ixir is a sophisticated cocktail that highlights the warm Christmas spice flavours of the Bravo™ apple. The addition of Campari cuts through the sweetness, contributes to the pink blush and adds a little contrasting bitterness to this most cultivated beverage.


Spiced Bravo™ apple Syrup

1 litre dry apple cider
2 Bravo™ apples, grated skin on
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole allspice (pimento)
1 tsp whole cloves
2 tsp whole black peppercorns
1 cup caster sugar

For each Bravo™ apple-ixir

¼ cup apple schnapps
1 tbsp Spiced Bravo™ apple Syrup
1 tbsp Campari
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ cup soft or low alcohol apple cider
1 thin slice of lemon
Dried crosscut Bravo™ apple slices, to garnish (optional)


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine cider, grated Bravo™ apple, spices and sugar. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer. Keep simmering uncovered, until reduced by half. Strain out the grated Bravo™ apple and spices and continue to boil until a syrupy consistency.
  2. For each cocktail, combine apple schnapps, Spiced Bravo™ apple Syrup, Campari and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain into an ice and lemon slice-filled highball glass. Top with soft cider.
  3. Garnish with dried Bravo™ apple slices.
